May 25, 2024
Session 1. How to correctly diagnose and manage congestive heart failure in dogs and cats
9:00-10:30: How to identify and diagnose heart failure
- This talk will focus on clinical exam (incl, ausculation), lab tests (incl, biomarkers), X-ray and echocardiography

11:00-12:30: How to manage heart failure and prevent complications
- This talk will focus on correct staging skill based on diagnostic imaging data
- Also will discuss the early recognition skills for complications from long-term management of heart failure
Session 2. Major heart diseases in dogs
1:30-3:00 Degenerative valvular heart diseases: Is it aging process or disease?
- This talk will focus on the clinical features of mitral and/or tricuspid valvular degeneration in dogs.
- Also discuss about management strategy with either medical (drug) or interventional (mitral V-clamp, left atrial decompression)/surgical (valvuloplasty) treatment

3:30-5:00 Heartworm diseases: Is it possible to eradicate heartworm form our world
- This talk will focus on clinical features and prevention skill of canine/feline heartworms
- Also will discuss about medical and surgical treatment.

Session 3. Cardiomyopathies in dogs and cats
9:00-10:30: Feline cardiomyopathies: Why feline heart diseases are so difficult to manage?
- This talk will focus on clinical and diagnostic features of various type of cardiomyopathies in cats
- Also will discuss about medical management including thromboembolism, heart rate control, pimobendan, mevacamten and Entresto

11:00-12:30: Canine cardiomyopathies: Is it primary or secondary??
- This talk will focus on identifying and differentiating primary (e.g. DCM) and secondary cardiomyopathies (e.g. hypertensive cardiomyopathy, and drug induced cardiomyopathies) in dogs
- Also will discuss the management strategies for those cardiomyopathies.
Session 4. Congenital heart diseases and related interventional therapies
1:30-3:00 Congenital heart defects: Simple (single) defects
- This talk will focus on the pathophysiological classification and management skills based on the location/type of defects in dogs and cats
- Also will discuss about interventional therapies related to defects (e.g. PDA/VSD/ASD occlusion, balloon dilation and stenting)

3:30-5:00 Congenital heart defects: Compounded (multiple) defects
- This talk will focus on clinical features and management strategy for Compounded congenital heart defects
- Also will discuss about prognostic markers for each defect.
