Current appointment:
Faculty funded position as Associate Professor in Small Animal Veterinary Medicine at the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences since 2014-present. The position includes teaching of veterinary students and veterinary nursing students, clinical work at the University Animal Hospital, research activities and various public outreach/third stream activities.

o Main supervisor to DVM Lena Pelander. Project titel: Epidemiology and early diagnosis of chronic kidney diseasein the dog. Thesis successfully defended: May 2018.
o Co-advisor to DVM Sofia Hanås. Project titel: Circulating cardiac biomarkers, their interbreed variation in healthycats and their usefulness for diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in cats. Thesis successfully defended: January 2022.
o Co-advisor to DVM Cecilia Rohdin. Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of a myelopathy in pugs – A journey from ”Wobbly Pugs” to Pug Dog Myelopathy. Thesis successfully defended January 2023.
o Main supervisor to DVM Yu-Wen Kuo. Project title: Echocardiographic assessment of the left atrial size in dogs and cat. Date of admission: October 2019. Thesis will be defended October 2024.
o Main supervisor to DVM Karin Kriström. Project titel: Taurine blood concentrations in Cocker Spaniel dogs with or without dilated cardiomyopathy. Ongoing.
o Co-advisor to DVM Johanna Holmberg. Project title: Breed disposition and clinical laboratory variables in dogs with chronic inflammatory enteropathy. Ongoing
o Co-advisor to DVM Maria Dimopoulou. Project title: Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome in the dog. Ongoing.
o Main supervisor to DVM Sorawit Phetariyawong. Project title: Deciphering the mechanisms underlying myxomatous mitral valve disease in dogs. Ongoing.
o Co-supervisor to DVM Elisa Välimäki. Project title: Echocardiographic and radiographic cardiac findings in healthy dogs and asymptomatic dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease sedated with medetomidine- vatinoxan combinations. Ongoing.

I have acted as Main or Co-advisor for 35 students’master degree theses 2008 -present.
Teaching activities at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden:
o I have acted as a clinical instructor in small animal cardiology/small animal internal medicine since 2006-present and I give seminars and arrange interacivte exercises on a regular basis. I have been lecturing for students at the veterinary program about veterinary cardiology/small animal internal medicine since 2007-present. In addition, I have acted as a course master for the Master thesis program at the veterinary program at SLU.
Lectures at international congresses and society meetings
o More than 30 State of the Art Lectures (invited) at major international congresses and society meetings such as the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM- CA) Congress, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum (ACVIM Forum), and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Congress).
Popular scientific presentations and continuing education
o From 2010 to present, I have lectured and acted as instructor in cardiology and internal medicine at continuing education courses/seminars for veterinarians at more than 30 national and international course events.
